Fiberglass repair facility specializing in Composite reconstruction, fabrication, restoration, and customized painting.

 

 

Role in the company:

President/General Manager.  Overseeing job productivity and staff, including estimating, design consulting, color matching, and composite repair training.  Primary attention is devoted to developing customer relations and maintaining correspondence through each stage of the repair.

 

 

Education and employment history:

I was first introduced into composites through competing in downhill skiing events in the early seventies, originally repairing my own skis and then through employment with a local ski shop in the Tahoe Basin.  I defined my interests and skills working for International Marine Contractors as a composite technician and painter.  In 1982, I developed my own business and founded Fiberglass Specialties.  I currently attend business and art courses at Sierra College and hold certificates in marine composites from Abaris, CFA, and ABBRA.

 

 

Noteworthy accomplishments:

With Fiberglass Specialties, I have restored projects for the Lake Tahoe Concourse d'Elegance Boat Show.  I designed and manufactured polymer concrete products for the Public Utilities District, consulted and fabricated facades for local casinos.  As a volunteer, I inspect for the Pacific Offshore Race Association, as well as contribute to ABBRA as president.  I am currently facilitating composites and gelcoat courses for ABBRA and for eMarineTraining.com.
